Private and bilingual school in Boadilla del Monte: We prepare our students for a global world

An international, dynamic, and real-world model

At Highlands, we are committed to genuine bilingual education from the earliest years. Our own model, inspired by the High School system, allows students to naturally and confidently study 50% of the curriculum in English. From Year 1 of Primary, English becomes a living, functional tool that is part of their everyday life.

Starting in Year 5, students begin learning French as a third language, promoting multilingualism and enhancing their communication skills in a globalized world.

Specialist teachers and learning environments

Each subject is taught by a teacher who is an expert in their field, who has their own classroom. Students move from subject to subject, which fosters autonomy, responsibility, and a more specialized, enriching learning experience that mirrors the secondary school model.

Continuing teacher formtation

Our teaching team is dynamic, inquisitive, and committed to continuous improvement. They receive specific training in their specialty, innovative methodologies, and language development, even participating in training placements abroad. This way, we offer consistently up-to-date and motivating instruction.

We strive for excellence in all our students

Swimming is life program: Daily physical activity and private pool

We believe in sports as a fundamental part of students’ all-round development. In the first years of primary school, students enjoy four weekly sessions of physical activity, as well as an aquatic psychomotor session in our heated pool. The entire program is endorsed by the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation, guaranteeing quality teaching in the aquatic environment.

Sports provide a space for growth in effort, self-esteem, teamwork, and healthy habits.

We accompany the student at all times

Christian formation and spiritual accompaniment

We joyfully follow Christ, always seeking truth, goodness, and beauty in our daily lives. Primary school includes Catholic Religion classes, preparation for the sacraments, and various pastoral activities. Our students are guided by a chaplain, as well as dedicated staff and teachers who ensure their spiritual growth.

The student at the center

Each student receives personalized and close support. Regular individual tutoring sessions are held, as well as group tutoring to improve classroom cohesion and meetings with families to align each child’s emotional, academic, and social development. The role of the tutor and the training instructor is key at this stage.

Parent school

At Highlands, we walk hand in hand with families. That’s why we offer training sessions and opportunities for discussion with experts to help them in the important task of educating, adapting to the current concerns and challenges of childhood.

We train committed students

We educate in virtues and leadership

Beyond academic content, we build character. Our students work weekly on a specific virtue within the virtues program and are eligible for the Honor Roll, which recognizes their commitment to effort, camaraderie, positive attitude, and the values they live by every day.

Committed to others

We promote solidarity from a young age through social initiatives and volunteer activities, where students discover that true leadership is based on service to others.

Positive living environments

Supermanners: Good Table Manners

We train digital students, ready for the world of tomorrow

Digital environment endorsed by Microsoft: Microsoft Showcase School

The Office 365 educational suite turns the classroom into a secure, agile, intuitive and resource-rich collaborative learning environment. It provides a more personalized, creative and autonomous, yet collaborative way of teaching.

When students use Microsoft Office 365, they are developing the skills and competencies they will need in their future.

We have various electronic devices: Smart Board, Digital Projectors and iPads as tools and learning supports in the classrooms.

iPad project <>

From 5th grade onwards, each student has an iPad as a learning tool to complement and strengthen the development of digital competence.

Computational thinking

The LEGO Robotix Program encourages problem-solving, logical thinking and creativity. Through experiential learning, students collaborate to design, program and control robots and building systems to develop practical solutions to everyday problems.

Differentiated education with mixed learning environments

At Highlands, we are committed to an education that responds to the reality and needs of each developmental stage. That’s why we combine single-sex education with mixed learning environments, creating a balanced setting that supports both academic achievement and personal growth.

Each school stage has its own building, tailored to the developmental needs of the students. However, boys and girls naturally interact throughout the day: in the dining hall, playgrounds, social activities, interdisciplinary projects, and shared subjects, students collaborate, face challenges, and learn together.

This model allows us to:

  • Better address each student’s pace, abilities, and interests.
  • Support more personalized academic and emotional development.
  • Create an environment of respect, participation, and equality, where every student can express their personality freely and confidently.
  • Promote meaningful, respectful, and enriching coexistence between boys and girls, preparing them for a diverse society.

The combination of structured single-sex and coeducational spaces allows us to bring out the best of both approaches, offering a well-rounded, balanced, and deeply human education.
